THE ALLSTATE TREATMENT & TRAINING IN ATTACHMENT CENTER (TATTAC)

We welcome the opportunity to support you in helping your child put the pieces of their life together and thanks you for your interest in using our services. There are two things that will need to be completed prior to our first working session.

There is an assessment that is filled out by the parent on the child. I have found the assessment to be quite helpful in working with birth and extended families whose children come back to them (or to them) after living with another primary caregiver as well as adopted and foster families. The assessment will help us determine whether the child in question might fit into the realm of an unhealthy attachment. A person who has lived with the child in question for a minimum of 6 months and who spends the most time with the child should fill out the subtests. The subtests will take you about 1.5 to 2 hours and can be completed at your leisure in your home. If you are interested in beginning this process please contact Bernadine Janzen for the assessment information.

When we receive the assessment back from you we will call you to make a phone or face-to-face intake session. In the intake session we will discuss the findings, whether the child would be classified as having attachment issues, what the families commitment is to the child and what will be needed from all of us to work together for the future of the child. The initial session is about 1.5-2 hours. If there are two parents or caregivers in the family both need to attend this process.

Future sessions can consist of the child, parents, others in your family or friends that can be helpful to your family. Sessions can go anywhere from 2 - 3.5 hours and visits vary from family to family. Payments should be made at the end of each session unless prior arrangements are made. After Oct. of 2004 there will be a price increase for services but this will not affect clients who have started prior to that time.

We look forward to working with you in the future.
